In my continuing effort to help make certain that the history of Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic series is preserved, this set of View-Master slides has been scanned and/or photographed as required. If you want to own this "Snoopy and the Red Baron" set (B 5441 through B 5443), there are probably copies available on eBay, which is where I bought this set. It is in like-new condition.

Charles Schulz drew all of the daily comic strips himself, but he did license other artists to draw his characters for some commercial products, and these appear to be so. In fact, of all the Peanuts comics I have seen - and I have probably seen most of them - this accompanying booklet contains the only non-Peanuts type character I can remember seeing. Picture 19 on the last page shows a nonschultzian [sic] French woman bidding farewell to Snoopy the World War II Flying Ace. All the other instances of the French cafe scene use Marcie or Lucy playing the part.

1 - World War I Flying Ace Snoopy and his Sopwith Camel.

2 - _ fly off on a dawn patrol to bring down the Red Baron.

3 - "My dog has finally flipped," mourned Charlie Brown.

4 - Flying over France, Snoopy sighted the Red Baron

5 - "Nyaah!" Snoopy cried as the red Baron fired at him.

6 - Flying Ace Snoopy leaped to safety as his plane crashed.

7 - "Good grief! I landed in my own supper dish!

8 - Trapped behind enemy lines, Snoopy crept over battlefields.

9 - "Oh, no! Not another barbed wire barrier!"

10 - "Charlie Brown, who is your dog today?"" sneered Lucy.

11 - "Oh, I'll be shot at dawn," cried the Flying Ace.

12 - "Good grief! A sentry! I'll sneak up on him."

13 - Ace Pilot Snoopy grabbed the sentry. "Over he goes. RATS!"

14 - "Snoopy, you're driving me crazy," said Linus. "What's wrong?"

15 - Dog tired, Ace Snoopy trudged on. "I must get to my allies!"

16 - "Pont à Mousson, 3 kilometers. My journey is almost ended."

17 - "What's this?" Snoopy wondered. "It's a French farm house."

18 - "Don't be scared, Mademoiselle. The Red Baron shot me down."

19 - "Ah, yes, Mademoiselle. A small dish of soup."

20 - At last the Ace was back with his aerodrome in France.

21 - "Someday I'll get you, Red Baron Someday..."
