If you're anything like me, you
have an appreciation for the older comic strips. Getting the message being conveyed
sometimes requires a knowledge of the events of the era, but for the most part the
humor and/or satire comes through even when you assume it relates to current events.
WWI and WWII timeframe comics, for instance, often alluded to the evils of Fascist
governments overseas, while today they may be likened to the deeds of our own government.
These "Contest Caper" comics from a 1955 edition of Air Trails magazine are
timeless.
